The MediaElement.SetSource() method is only available in Silverlight platform, not in WPF. But in WPF apps, we need to play video from memory stream, and there is no good workaround to do it. Please... If it exists on Silverlight, its just put on WPF...

Application Storage can no longer be written to using Silverlight Plugin v5.1.20125.0. Rolling back to previous v5.1.10411.0 solves the problem, but non technical users of commercial software written for Silverlight cannot be expected to do this.

Really, does Silverlight (plugin-container) need to use the discrete graphics gard on my MacBook Pro whenever I have a web browser open regardless of the fact that I am not viewing any graphics intensive content?

All this does is drain battery and heat up the MacBook for no good reason. I'm sure Intel's integrated graphics are adequate for what Silverlight would be used for in web browsers on my Mac.

It would be really neat if SL had the feature similar to ASP.Net with its ability to combine static list items and databound items using the AppendDataBoundItems option. This would enable one to create a default listitem like "--- Please Select ---" at the top of ComboBoxes without having to do nasty workarounds and add such junk items to entity objects bound to the ComboBox.

Version 5 of Silverlight allow Windows (7) to turn off the display even while it is active (e.g., playing a Netflix video). Silverlight 4 did not have this behavior. That is, Windows would not turn the display off while playing a video in Silverlight 4. This does not appear to configurable in either Silverlight configuration or in Power Settings.

In C# it is possible to create a control and inherit from a control. then override some events or properties and customize your own control . Save control and use it.

No, I don't want to convert existing apps to html. I just want to have layout capabilities of xaml including templating available at design time, but the result should be pure html, css, javascript, maybe svg.

If TypesScript can do it with javascript, why not xaml with html?

We are using Silverlight 4.0 for our application suite development. We are facing a big problem with DataGrid control on production server.
Silverlight DataGrid is crashing if rows are heterogeneous. If they are homogeneous they work fine. It is throwing exception when using with combination of Grouping, Collapsing and Scrolling and binded with PagedViewCollection. Our control embedded in each row has expand and collapse functionality which makes the rows heterogeneous. Whenever we perform Scrolling operation or resize operation on DataGrid it crashes

It would be nice to run silverlight app on android platform, since this is widely use.
