The Install is the 1st impression that lots of users get.
I thought the windows install experience could better.
But then I saw what the upgrade and install expereience on the mac is like... awfull. Not sure if MS can do much about this, if you could it would be a great help. I have had a few separate mac users fail to use the web site on account of not being able to install SL.
Also switching off auto update in order to get a better install expereience for end users took me a lot of time, far too much fiddling with javascript and html pages etc.. I think we need a better solution to this that is part of VS.
BTW The chrome browser on windows has a really nice seamless update mechanism, (If you have SL2 installed it updates to SL4). Maybe the IE team need to have a look at it...

Totailly agree - this is one area where Flash and AIR have a way smoother experience. It's also the place where a lot of people have a bad experience that taints their impression of Silverlight. I don't believe Silverlight adoption is being badly affected by lack of features (especially after SL 4) but consumers of SL applications are being turned off because of the install experience/perception. MUST be improved.

This is a big need. What we have is sl 1.0 for this and it is not good in any way, should be as easy as coding a SL4.0 application with all the features we already have.
