    • Restrict Behavior visibility

      When I define a System.Windows.Interactivity.Behavior<T> for e.g. an ItemsControl, like

      public class SomeAwesomaticBehavior : Behavior<ItemsControl>
      {
      }

      it will appear in Visual Studio's XAML editor (and probably in the Designer too) even for ordinary, non-Items-Controls and throw nasty runtime exceptions. This is contrary to Attached Properties which will appear only for intended types.

      The designer and the XAML editor must be updated to respect a behavior's scope. Because it surely does confuse co-workers and designer folks when a lot of Behaviors pop up that don't have anything to do with the current object.

      • Complete the Support for WPF Serialzation in System.Xaml namespace

        The XamlObjectReader will throw defered load exceptions for WPF schema. This apparently is because the Save method on the System.Windows.TemplateContentLoader was not implemented.

        Failing this please make Visual Studio or Blends object Serialization source publicly available.

        Even better do both.

        In any case custom applications that may want to do designer or transformations on XAML would greatly benefit by this, and it appears it just wasn't completed.

        Thank you.

        • Fix XPS Document Writer Threadsafety

          If you try to submit an .xps document to "Microsoft XPS Document Writer" printer using PrintQueue.AddJob(), but from a worker thread (not the application thread), it fails with an exception. I don't understand how that is even possible, but it's irritating to have to special case this one driver to print on the main app thread.

          • Provide way for ICommands to determine the UIElement which owns the command

            ICommands should have the ability, when executed, to determine which UIElement owns the command. Perhaps when event handlers are invoked, CallContext could be used to store the current UIElement 'sender'.

              • High use of controls or triggers made application flickered

                When we use layout controls at high end and triggers, due to client requirement we create own style for specific control made wpf application flickered sometime... which is not good interface for client.

                  • Improve Locale Management

                    Managing multiple languages and Locales in WPF is nothing short of a nightmare... Please at least make it as straightforward as WinForms with similar tools. The learning curve is too steep in that regard, and having to tag/rename each and every control and map it to an external file is absolutely unacceptable.

                    • Virtualization of Variable-Height Views/Data

                      Optionally support fixed width, and a variety of algorithms for calculating scrollbar parameters. (e.g. Query the entire collection for item dimensions up front, optionally cache views, etc.)
                      Support table, list, and tree scenarios.

                      An example of where this would be useful, is an email client that showed the full content of messages (thus variable height) in the right hand pane.
                      In our case, we have a list of hundreds of types of forms each with different and often variable height. We hacked together a virtualization solution that tworks, but something more polished could work better.

                      • Let me override the default value for DatePicker.FirstDayOfWeek

                        With most other dependency properties I can override the default value in my App.OnStartup method using OverrideMetadata. However, DatePicker assigns a default value to FirstDayOfWeek in the instance constructor, so the dependency property's default value is never used.

                        • TabItem.ToolTip should only affect the Header, not the content.

                          When you set TabItem.ToolTip, the tooltip is visible in the entire tab along its content.
                          This should be fixed, and the tooltip should be visible for the header only which makes much more sense.

                          • Add [ContentProperty("Value")] attribute to the Setter class

                            It's a pain to have to write <Setter.Value> every time the value cannot be written as an attribute (e.g. templates)...It should be obvious that the content of the <Setter> element is its value.

                            • Simple peer-to-peer communications between 2 WPF Programs.

                              Build some WPF Classes to facilitate extremely simple peer-to-peer communications between two WPF programs running on different computers. Target "Generic HID: over USB, Bluetooth peer-to-peer, and finally, Direct WiFi peer-to-peer.
                              In fact, you could bundle all three types of connections into a single class. It could consist of 4 simple functions:
                              Handle = Open_Connection(Unique_ID, Connection_Type(USB_Hid| | BlueThooth | Direct_Wifi);
                              ReturnCode = Send_Message(Handle, message, messagelength);
                              ReturnCode = Receive_Message(Handle, message, messagelength);
                              Close(Handle);
                              The whole idea is to give programmers lots of power without having them deal with tons of complexity.

                              • Datagrid mode to allow cell data (full/part) selection for clipboard copy not in edit mode.

                                When displaying data in a datagrid, we need an option to land in a cell, mark the text within the cell and be able to copy it, without having to be in any edit mode to do so. The selection mode should be able to remain row selection, we need to be able to deal with selecting data inside the cell independently from the row/multi cell selection options.
                                This option also needs to be available on textboxes in general, so that a read only user can copy appearance data out of fields to the clipboard.
